Highland Games in Perthshire begins with a Bang.

With the traditional start to the Highland Games season at Blair Atholl, the Games officially start with the Firing of the Canon, and the March of the Atholl Highlanders, accompanied by their own Pipes and Drums. There are also the other highlights of the Tug Of War between the Atholl Highlanders and their Highland Dance, before the presentations of the Bottles of Whisky to all of the Highlanders. The weather stayed fair for the day, but was still comfortably warm, and with the crowds being entertained to all the other events throughout the day, it was undoubtedly, the great start to the season, in Perthshire.
